Michelle O'Sullivan
Occupational Therapist
BAppSc(OT), Usyd 2008
GradCert Loss, Grief & Trauma Counselling, Flinders 2011
I've worked in Not-For-Profit and Private Practice settings, focusing my learning & practice on Hypermobility conditions since 2010. Seeing clients via clinics in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane Canberra and online since 2010 has allowed me to support hundreds of individuals and families across the lifespan.
Why hypermobility?
Lived experience of hypermobility piqued my interest, and realising just how much we have to offer people with these conditions made me jump in... deep.
Where did you learn what you know?
Books, journal articles, clients, my own lived experience and 3x trips to the USA for Conferences on the Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes including allied health specific training days and shadowing the amazing team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital when it was under the guidance of Dr. Brad Tinkle. Synthesising that information and experience has been my work for the last 13 years. Do I know everything? Absolutely NOT. Am I passionate about sharing what I do know? YES.
Why teach other OTs and not just see the kiddos yourself? There is only one of me, and SO many young people and families in need of what we as OTs can offer them. I'm aiming now for the ripple effect. And that's why I am so grateful you're interested to learn more.
